I made some brackets to bolt to the frame. Now I have 100% contact with the Sumo Springs. The are working extremely well!

Help a lot with the bounce from the leaf springs

Working great

by:

My only complaint is that even with adding the two provided spacers, I was still a quarter inch short of touching the top rail. It is supposed to be set with a slight pushing down from the top rail. It went on easily and I am sure it will still work whenever there are significant bumps in the road.

by:

Easy install. It took me approximately 3 hours for the entire project. That's cleaning a few things up also. I did not notice much difference in "body roll". Honestly,, I never had much before. Now, anytime going over rougher roads, railroad tracks, etc.... That was a big difference. It took a lot of that movement out. I hardly knew the trailer was going over it. I installed these on a 5th wheel.

by:

These were very easy to installed and have done a great job smoothing out the ride of the camper. It has made a big difference in how the camper tows and has calmed it down with crosswinds and when big trucks pass by. We did not have the clearance to install a shock kit and the tech at etrailer highly recommended these, I am glad he did. So far I am very happy with this product.

These are still going strong after a year of abuse from these horrible roads. I still feel that they have done a lot to smooth out the ride of the trailer.

by:

Fantastic upgrade for the cheap factory suspension!

by:

For the money I believe its the best thing you can do to improve the ride of your trailer. Lessons the shock of the bad roads (like I-95 in south carolina) on the leaf springs and hangers.

by:

Easy Installation. I'm expecting them to act as shock-absorbers, and I haven't experienced any adverse handling issues, so I guess they're working. I haven't noticed any difference in handling, so I guess that's OK. I hoped for additional capacity, too, and that's hard to measure. Sorry this isn't more definitive, but I'm satisfied that they are helping.

by:

When I decided to replace the RV trailer leaf springs I decided to update the suspension by adding Sumo Springs as well. The installation was simple and quick. Between etrailer.com and Sumo Springs websites all the information is available for the do it your-selfer. Thanks etrailer.com for shipping to Canada. I will continue to support your company.

by:

Kit came with more than I needed but I can see where some trailers might have used different hardware and all scenarios were included in kit. I went with these to help eliminate my tires rubbing against bottom of trailer floor on rough roads "California" and give an overall smoother ride hopefully extending the lifespan of our trailer. I also Installed Dexter EZ Flex at the same time.

by:

Simple call to identify part number needed, Fast delivery, Clear instructions, Extremely easy install.

Great spring support solution to resolve bounce and sway! Perfect addition to our 2019 Riverstone 5th Wheel

Springs are still getting the job done~!

by:

Was easy to install I removed the wheels which made it easy to access the u bolt flange that they mount to I moved the propane line further away from the area, took about an hour to complete install which included greasing the spring mounts.

by:

These helped the tow quality of my boat trailer immensely. The trailer feels so much smoother on big bumps on the highway and the gear in the boat moves around a lot less than before. Super easy to install as well.

by:

One year in already? Wow time flies! These sumo springs have been a GREAT addition to our 32' travel trailer. Easy to install and they've been perfect ever since. I definitely recommend these!

Still so glad we got these ... Things stay put in the trailer, no matter how bumpy the roads get!

by:

Was having a control issue with my camper, corresponded with Gregory and he knew what I needed to fix the problem, these mad hauling my camper enjoyable and not a white knuckle experience.

by:

The only reason I can't give a 5 star is that we haven't taken the trailer out yet to test the sumo's.
From the install point of view, they were great! easy to follow instructions and assembly.

My only suggestion comes from my own mistake. Maybe consider adding an additional line to your step 1. "Ensure the landing gear / jacks / stabilizers are retracted before taking measurements". I had measured and installed two sumo's before I realized the gears were still down which, obviously, messed up my measurements. Thus I had to take off the sumo's, hook up the 5th wheel, raise the jacks, then restart the process. Went smooth after that. My daughter installed one with no problem. Thanks.

I believe they are working as advertised. They smooth out the bumps felt inside the trailer. I also installed sumos on our pickup. They make a HUGE difference when pulling our 5th wheel. Very satisfied.

by:

Installed with EZ-flex equalizer kit. Easy to install when the suspension is lowered. Make sure to measure the gap between the springs and frame before you take off the wheels. Seems like good quality and does improve the ride.

by:

I had always taken the clover leaf ramps on freeways slow while towing my trailer from fear of tipping. It's stupid, but I feel much better going traffic speed on the ramps now with these springs installed on the trailer. I also feel more comfortable towing with side winds. I don't have a lot of experience towing in high winds, but the few trips I have done with moderate winds felt safe.

by:

After installing the trailer specific sumo springs the trailer is more stable when towing. I would recommend this easy upgrade to your towable RV.

by:

Easy install needed to get more spacers due to distance from spring to frame happy with results

by:

Although product was on back order etrailer kept me well informed on order progress which was appreciated. Seems to be a great product, untested at this time. Very easy installation ,hoping for the best.

Have had a great experience with sumospings on 31ft 5th wheel,8500 miles, smoother ride and less internal movement of objects.

by:

Great add on to our travel trailer suspension to assist in the ride of our leaf spring suspension. We also have MORryde 3000, HD shackle wet bolts , and X-factor crossmembers on our trailer as well. All of the above makes for a great towing experience as we tow our rig between 10 and 15k miles a year from upstate NY to the Rockies as well as traveling the Adirondack mountains and New England with plans for Alaska after COVID. Another great add are the Goodyear Endurance tires on our trailers....fantastic tires! We have a tpms for our trailer tires and I check tire temperature every 2 to 4 hours of travel
With an infrared thermometer.... safe travels!

by:

Excellent product and great service

by:

Perhaps this product would work well on a lighter trailer. My trailer has 7K axles and product did not help at all.

  • Selecting The Correct Leaf Springs For a 2019 Keystone Hideout With 3,500LB Tandem Trailer Axles
It is best to measure your leaf springs with the trailer weight off the spring. As you mentioned you have a measurement of 26.5" from eye center to eye center you more likely have the 25-1/8" Spring # e54SR. If this spring was completely flat it would have a length of 26-3/8", where a 26" Spring # e22YR when flat would be 28" long. I find it best to stay with the axle capacity springs and as a suspension enhancement like the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40. These will help...

  • Recommended Suspension Helper for Stock Trailer
I'm not aware of any air bag systems that can be used on trailers, but there are some great options available for jounce style springs that sit on the axles and add some extra cushion; a good example of these are the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket - Single Axle - 3K to 5K - Overslung # TSS-107-40. These helper springs are designed for single axle trailers with 3000-lbs to 5000lbs capacity, but if you can let me know the specs on the axle of your trailer and...

  • Can SumoSprings # TSS 107-40 be Used with Shock Kit Installed on Trailer
The SumoSprings Kit part # TSS-107-40 would work just fine on a trailer with shocks like what you have. The shocks will still provide the dampening to make it feel less bouncy and harsh whereas the SumoSprings would just give you more support which reduce the bouncing. If you are getting sway though I would recommend you try moving the weight of any cargo in the trailer as far forward as you can and also make sure you are using a ball mount that allows the trailer to sit level as well.

  • Is the RoadActive Suspension an Upgrade to TorkLift StableLoad & SumoSprings Helper Springs
The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4611 would provide a slight upgrade in the sense that it would provide you with a set-it and forget-it option that wouldn't require you to connect and disconnect when you hook up and unhook your trailer like the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade # TLA7310S. That being said, you most likely would not notice any sort of ride upgrade using the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4611 versus the...

  • Will The RoadActive Suspension Enhancement Kit Eliminate The Need For A WDH
The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-Y is more for supporting your suspension and stiffening it up to handle the extra weight when loading the bed or bumper-pulling. Depending on how your truck handles the weight of the trailer, yes, it could potentially eliminate the need for a WDH because you're strengthening the rigidity of your leaf springs. Most WDH's, like your Husky Centerline, also provide sway control so losing the WDH would mean you'd lose your...

The Shocker Air Equalizer for Weight Distribution Hitch # SHK68VR was designed for up to 1,200lb tongue weight so your 600lb tongue weight will easily fall within range and wouldn't necessarily be overkill. The manufacturer does not give a specific psi rating and recommends starting with the air bag empty and filling it 5psi at a time until you feel comfortable with the ride quality. There is a way to make a 72" 2000lb axle overslung (axle underneath springs) but they are not sold that way. First you will need an axle. I recommend the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with Standard Spindles - 72" Long - 2,000 lbs # T20BTR-7258 which has the 72" hub face to hub face measurement you are needing. Next you will need to remove the pre-installed spring seats and have the # TRSS175 welded in the correct location on the other side of the axle in the correct location to match your...

  • Will SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs Increase Space Between Frame and Axle
The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs typically install compressed so they do tend to provide more space between the frame and axle in most cases but not by much and this is not really the goal of the system. If you don't have enough space between the frame and axle then this may be due to worn out leaf springs so I recommend checking this but I have attached the SumoSpring options below which are based on axle type and capacity. • SumoSpring or Timbren for 5x8 Karavan Utility Trailer
For your application I recommend checking out the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40 because they are designed for an overslung leaf spring setup and SumoSprings tend to offer more forgiving support so it's more comfortable. This kit is rated for 3K - 5K axles and is 5" tall but SumoSprings has told us in the past that if one of their springs are too tall it's perfectly okay to cut it to the height you need and that won't affect the performance of the spring. • Recommendation For Upgrading Sagging Suspension On A 2018 Keystone Hideout Travel Trailer
Though upgrading to the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e34SR will not compromise any of the suspension components, it will affect the ride quality of the trailer. As your 2018 Keystone Hideout has a fully loaded weight of 9,665 pounds, these springs may be a little too highly rated, in my opinion. With that said, if the 3,500 pound springs just aren't cutting it, the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles # e44SR will be a better option. Especially if...

The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs will help to provide extra support to the leaf springs reducing road shocks and increasing ride quality. They install between the trailer and frame providing a cushion which is progressive so it gets harder the more weight is added. In order to determine the correct ones, simply make note of the axle location, if the axle is above the leaf springs you'll need part # TSS-106-40 or if it's below you'll need part # TSS-107-40.

The difference between the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # TSS-106-40 and # TSS-107-40 is the orientation of the axle to the leaf springs. So since you have an underslung kit the correct part number you need is the # TSS-106-40. The main difference is the height of the spacer that fits below the jounce (blue) spring. • Why Did My Shackle Flip On My Tandem Axle Utility Trailer?
What most likely occurred when you were driving on the bumpy road with no weight on your utility trailer is the trailer bounced enough to upset the suspension and after it landed it caused the shackle to flip. The SumoSprings # TSS-107-40 you were looking at do a similar job, but do not do it quite as well as shocks.
